Its not that simple and thats why this fear of V8's dissapearing is highly unfounded. There are engineers working on stuff like this every day, and while things could get hinky for a while we won't be losing V8 cars. Look at F1, every year they restrict the cars more, and every year the lap times continue to be the same or faster, even with less aerodynamics, smaller contact patches, and 200+ less horsepower!
