You see, there you are wrong. If camaro sales were so great, why have not Camaro outsold a Mustang since the 80's till now ? Why did not the gen 4 outsell a mustang ? People who know the brand and are looking will look towards the new V6 and GT and go hmmm wow a update. Just as Camaro owners had a lot of brand loyalty pushing the sales, so will the Mustang.
Many have waited for this retool. Many like the new body and new interior of the 10. So those people waited for the 2011 to arrive. Other's have taking advantage of the sales for 2010. People who were on the fence may had gone with Camaro because simply it was more car for the same money as a 2010 Mustang. Now with 2011, that advantage is gone. Those same buyers will now look and see both vehicles on even playing fields.
All one need to do is look at the 2005 sales. The new style and more power sold Mustangs. Now with the return of the iconic 5.0, it will happen again. As many of you like to say on this board, "you see Mustangs on every corner!" Well you know....its a reason for that....and that's just not with the s197 generations. Ford is on a roll. Many of the cars are doing quite well. The 2011 will sell well. Very well I think, and I think you will be in for a surprise of just how well it does.
