Again, it was a dealer guide, that clearly said not to be distributed... This could have been me had I pulled the trigger, but I knew a customer version was to follow. Why in that order? So we can read, learn etc. Then when the consumer guide comes out, if you have questions, we'd at least have a head start. The dealer guide was done some time ago, so I'm sure it has some info that is no longer correct. And it has info on ordering that really doesn't have any net benefit to the end buyer, which could just add more confusion - something we really don't need with a car launch.
The new poster said somewhere HIS copy came from a dealer in Florida. Now, the FOR DEALER USE is in small print, so maybe they didn't know. We walk a fine line everyday with what we hear and see. If I'm in doubt, I'll ask someone at GM IF I can post something. I don't want to be out of a job, nor do I want my dealership in hot water.
This happened months ago, when the first guide leaked (not by me) - the warnings were there. If someone was a newbie to the forum, they may have missed it. Others such as myself saw that, and realized there's a time and place for everything. If the dealership guide was to get out, the Camaro team would have provided it. Please don't speculate GM is the one that actually put it out there...It was pulled from the gm launch site by who knows who - it's not a very secure site, so it could even had been a non-dealer employee. But in the end, its done and over. Orders will start the 13th, and the Camaro will roll down the line in February.
The CONSUMER guide should be ready on Friday, and yes, we can post that. Perhaps it will be more accurate, and more updated than what we've all seen. Not to mention, dealers should know what we can finally order Friday!
I, like Scott, was very impressed though at the level of respect shown here. Makes me just as proud to be a part of this car launch!
Lets move on, get the car we've been waiting for, and put those MUSTANGS TO SHAME!
