There is a specific RPM range /engine temperature / throttle position range in the computer that if you fall in all the right range for all of them, it will try to shift from 1 to 4th... It'll indicate it in the Drivers Information Center. It's like 14 to 22 miles per hour at operating temp, and easy acceleration...
There are about ten thousand threads on it and to simplify all of it, for about twenty dollars you can buy a ready made skip shift eliminator....
If you decide to buy one, get it at the same time you order your shifter, then install them at the same time as they go in the same place...
