I'm starting to think that Toyota has figured that as long as they are down and being kicked around on account of the recall crises, they might as well throw in some smaller recalls for other issues they know about. Perhaps not "worthy" of a recall all on their own by regulatory definition, but the last thing Toyota needs is to get everything "behind them" and then have other smaller quality issues explode violently. Issues that under normal circumstances would have been handled rather quietly and without attention are now going to become major headlines.
Toyota is hurtin' for certain.
