At Last... A Level Playing Ground... Thank U Toyota
Where was the LEVEL playing ground?
Foreign makers have had the advantage of cheap labor and untrue reliability perceptions for the last 10-15 years. The issues and problems with Toyota and Honda are not NEW. They are obviously engineering deficiencies that go back into the 90s. The attempt first to blame the issues, in Toyota's case, on simple things like Floor Mats, then shifting it to an American supplier, now.. it would seem that the computer engineering is the culprit.
But do U see??? This fantasy of LEVEL playing-ground is just that... a delusion. The very idea of the POSITIVE perceptions of the Japanese makers precludes the concept of a level playing ground shows the root of all the bullshit U've been kicking all along.
Many will try and deflect it by pushing Ford Fusion and Fseries recalls, along with a Cobalt power steering issue.. but neglect the possibility that as bad as these things are... they are minor, and have been the REALITY for the public for quite some time. The public believes that the Domestics are occasionally fallible. They are no better, or NO WORSE, than the foreign makers who are now recalling vehicles that go back deep into the last 2 decades.
The Foreign vs Domestic debate is DEAD.. and the Domestics have seemingly won. I thank Toyota... for their contribution to my cause. They landed the fatal blow to their own lie. And everyday it seems they are apologizing for it.
Seems to me that with GM and Ford sales rising I might have to ask... WHY CAN'T THE FOREIGN MAKERS COMPETE with THE DOMESTICS anymore???
I kno the answer tho... PERCEPTION of the foreign machine's superiority is quite possibly FINISHED. There's not a Domestics Dealership salesman who can't instantly ask a perspective customer if they have "heard of the issues that Toyota and Honda have been having lately?"
Now these mainstream buyers are sampling GM and Ford vehicles at the very time they are all being rated in the top of their classes. SPREADING THE WORD... that:
" yeah... GM and Ford are making some reeeeallly nice vehicles these days... Have U seen that new Buick... new Chevy... new Ford... new... etc?"
Finally a GOV'T that asked GM, Ford, and Chrysler, just as year ago, "why aren't U making reliable cars that people want like Honda and Toyota???" are now pointing at the Prius, Corolla, Camry, Fit, and several other models... and saying:
"U shouldn't drive that POS JAPCRAP until it gets FIXED."
A fix that is gonna take about 6 months to be finished... possibly longer. All the while the owners of these cars are suddenly wanting to RAM THEIR VEHICLES into the dealerships where they bought them.
SAD... so EFFIN SAD.
