I'm as American as they come, but ofcourse soldiers will want to re-enlist and continue fightin in Iraq, they don't want to believe they fought for nothing! They're jobs are to complete 'the mission', whatever mission that may be, and all praise goes to them for wanting to complete their mission now.

I wish them well and hope our future deems better for all of us here, in America, at least.

Understood, and you opinion is not "wrong" by any stretch of the word.....

Maybe you have served, obviously I don't know, but I think...just a hunch, if you walked on their soil, saw what their citizens see, your opinion MIGHT be different. I can tell you ...its much more than oil, much more than WMDs ...(I know someone of you want to slap me in the face after that statement)...and yes sir... MAYBE it was ...hell maybe it still is to the pencil pushers, but if you saw the children, the families.....anyone with a heart would agree with where I am coming from

I am blessed enough to be past that point in my life, be alive and moved my career now to law enforcement....but I will say those who I have kept contact with want to come home to their families, but FEEL with what they have seen first hand that with the help and grace of God they need to be there

You sir are EXACTLY right, we have no right to impose our government's will on other countries. I DO however believe that with the power this country has, we have the chance to assist and help countries who are suffering....and they...are...suffering. The children, the men and women are thankful. Do they still want us there?...hell no, who would? But many will express that though they would like us to leave because they want a non-hostile living environment...they also express that they NEED us for the time being. If you believe we should be completely out of foreign affairs and not assist anyone...then you have a valid argument as well, there are pro's and con's to both....but what is "right"

.....just a thought, not bashing your opinions by any means
