May be so but I said the same thing about the iPod - why would I need that ? Once I used one I knew it was the only way to listen to music.
Why would I want an iPhone ? Again, once I used it and saw the true power of internet/email mobility I was hooked.
Now the iPad - why? Because I'd rather sit on my coach, at a cafe, on a train/plane/bus and hold something like a book rather than a laptop - and when I want it to act like a laptop use the keyboard dock. Its not just the device - its how it enables us to access and use data/video/pictures/music/web/email/etc. in a whole new way.
Sure there will be imitators and we'll gripe about iPad 2.0, 3.0 etc., but once more Apple has taken a angle on a product class deemed sketchy at best and brought us all forward. They don't do everything right or well but they do more right/well than most...
