Wow that's crazy. My other car is a 2000 Camry. I love that car and intend on driving that until the day it dies, and that is going to be a sad day for me.
I do have to admit when they redesigned the Camry in 2002 I hated that style. So much so that i see it and say "I hate that".
Still though it should be concerning as GM and Toyota have teamed up on projects in the past. (Toyota Matrix, Pontiac Vibe - Toyota Corolla, Chevy Prism)
