This makes sense to me in that this is a way all manufacturers should go. I mean, if you want to reduce emissions and raise fuel efficiency, I think the internal combustion engine can only go so far. The next step, in my mind, is smaller displacement with forced induction (FI). If you've got enough money, I think the smaller engine, with the FI parts might be able to be lower in weight than a larger V8. Use more aluminum in the chassis and suspension and such and you'll loose more. Shoot, with the way batteries are coming along (Volt) maybe smaller-lighter batteries.

I'm looking forward to seeing if the Challenger has put even a small dent in Mustang sales. We'll see soon enough I suppose.
I don't think there's even a debate in your statements. Absolutely, Mustang has dominated but I don't think it will for much longer. I think GM has been keeping Camaro in the spotlight enough to keep many people interested and I know there are some faithful that went over to alternative cars in Camaro's segment because there was nothing for the last seven years, but that's going to change pretty quick. I think if GM can produce enough to keep the crowds happy, do what they can to control rediculous pricing, and promote the car more toward the average person, they will have success. Fanboy - yup, don't care; look at the site we're on. I don't know how it will affect Mustang sales, but I know it will AT LEAST a little.

The next year is going to be very interesting and exciting in the car world I think, despite the economy and whatever. No one scares me with gas prices; I'll find a way to make up for those. Just give me this car with too much power and I'll be happier than a pig in you-know-what
