But, we still got plenty of sleep last night.

Mindz, to answer your question... My wife is 29 years old, is 5'7", and has the child bearing hips (she's curvy...just like I like'em! ). With Dylan, our first, she was in A LOT of pain. Doc's think his head was pressing on a nerve or something because she was in constant pain...then the contractions hit and it was lots'o pain which was much worse:( . Once she was given the epidural, she was doing MUCH better...but was still in some pain.

With Dean, she had slight pain w/ regular contractions. She hit the 3cm mark and was given the epidural. She was fine....no pain. She didn't grunt. She didn't make any noises. She just pushed holding her breath. Now, as I said before, this was a FAST delivery. So, she was only pushing for a max of 7 minutes:eek: . The nurse wanted to do "practice pushing." Uh...no. His head was crowning on the 4th push and the nurse had to call the delivery doctor telling her to "RUN." The nurse then had to push on his head keeping him in until doc got there.

Once the Doctor got there, my wife pushed once and seriously, Dean was pushing himself out. He came right out VERY fast...which is why he still had fluid in his lungs. It was quick. My wife didn't feel a thing and had zero complications.

Again, thank you all for the congrats. As soon as I get the family home and have a few minutes to download the pix, I'll post them up for all to see our beautiful baby boy Dean.

I am one of those vitals nurses lol, sorry on behalf of us all! It's just part of the job and we have to do it! I always feel bad when I go in a patient's room and have to wake them up to take their BP and temp when I know they haven't been able to sleep well because of laboring all night, family visiting, the baby, etc. Glad to hear he is out of the NICU, that is great! Are you guys home yet?

You better post that pic soon!
