Cops too are citizens like everyone else; tax payers as mentioned. Difference is, they are held to a higher standard than your average citizen because they are "supposed" to be law enforcers... These are individuals whom we trust to protect and serve the public. They are suppose to enforce the law, not break it. sheesh...
Nobody's above the law... not even cops. There's no such thing as a "perk" or an "employee discount" when authorities disregard and trash the law. Happens enough in politics. And if they become law breakers, they too should be held accountable for their actions. It's just plain wrong for the justice system to excuse a select few and flog the rest.
