I've seen that info as well, but it isn't accurate. 5.0L V8 will intro sometime during the 2011MY. In fact, Windsor is tooling up for that motor as we speak (and has been for some time)

The current V6 model starts at 3300lb and change, and that with the boat anchor 4.0L V6 under hood which still uses a cast iron block and which has huge bore spacing making it extremely long. The 3.5L V6 is all aluminum and far smaller overall. Factor in the reality that the platform has reportedly gone on a bit of a diet and weight loss of a couple hundred pounds isn't at all difficult to believe. But, as I said before, this is just a guess.

D2C is DEW98-derived, but it's already lighter than the older DEW98 platform it sprang from and has been since it's debut. As stated above a current V6 model starts at 33xxlb. Factor in a smaller, lighter aluminum V6 and a weight loss plan for the revised platform and the car should obviously get even lighter content considered.

You are correct regarding the engines, but the new Mustang wont be here before the 2012CY at the earliest.
