It's really a good life, but as I mentioned before, it's not for everyone... if there is a problem at the house, we can't just drop and run... We miss birthdays, Christmas's, anniversaries, births, deaths, etc... The rigs work 24/7/365 non stop.... At 2 or 3 hundred thousand dollars a day from the oil companies, they do not let us take breaks so to speak.... the rig is working or we go on down time...
Wow... Def not an environment that would fit well with most people.
