Unfortunately though you would be surprised how many people stretch to afford these cars. About 8 or 9 years ago a moron in a Lamborghini Diablo (with his wife in the car!!) was street racing a guy in a Corvette and decided to go head on into traffic to pass him and hit a Volvo head on killing himself and the couple in the Volvo. The subsequent news story pointed out that this guy mortgaged his house to buy that car.

I see high end cars getting repoed a lot around here, even before the financial collapse.
