Thats actually not true, I used to work for one of the big name insurance companies and had worked on rating High end cars. Basically any high end car like that had to be manually rated as the underwriting system doesn't take into account the cost to repair a car that expensive. So we would rate the car based upon the normal underwriting standards that the computer system uses but we had to do it by hand as the computer wasn't set up to handle vehicles that have a repair cost 5-10x higher than any other car. It was a reeeeeally tedious process. The insurance premiums were significantly more than your average car because something as stupid as hitting a pothole could cost $10 grand or more. Around the time that I left this guy I worked with had started to automate the process a bit but it was still a stretch.

In the end though it was the same coverage you could get on your Camry or Tahoe, you could daily drive it or whatever.

And people do wreck them, we managed to have TWO brand new Murcielagos totaled within 1 month of eachother. :(
