There is some validity to some of the research.
But lets transport back in time to 10,000 years ago. If we had come into the industrial age 10,100 years ago, and started data collection, we would have been in a major tizzy about the ice caps, which at that time stretched well down into the lower 48 states.
There are natural trends in weather, it is very cyclic, but the truth of the matter is that as mentioned, it is best Guess at best... Weather forcasting has improved in the last 100 years, but is it perfect science, certainly not.
Are we to put all our eggs in one basket based on the same science guessing the trends for the next 5, 10, 100, 2000 years. I won't.
Sure I'll do my part based on current science to try and preserve what we have but how do we know we are not doing the wrong thing right now. The dust bowl was a prime example of people intervention into nature... Look at the changing coast lines due to people intervention.
Those that fail to study history are doomed to repeat those failings...I'm not saying we do the exact same things, but we need to learn that we may not always have the correct answers... all we have is the best current science available...
i laughed hysterically at a co-worker just prior to Y-2K. He and his father bought huge diesel generators and large fuel tanks to put at their houses... He said he was ready... I asked for what, he said at midnight on the 31st, all computers are going to shut down and life as we know it would end... He stocked up on food, fuel and ammunition... So I asked him which mid-night would this occur...he repeated the 31st... Ok, GMT, EST, CST, MST, PST, etc........ uhmm, well it will happen here..... whatever... so I guess there will be 24 individual catastrophies around the world... What good is the generator when diesel is no longer available....
