People have weighed in here from far and wide...
Alabama--- 1 ???, Kudos to Alabama for a Great Season and the National Championship, Well Deserved..
Calif,
Mich,
Ga,
Chicago??? K-State???
and Nebraska...

I did a little survey via ESPN sites and re-affirmed my thoughts...

Feel Free To Flame...

What would College football be without "TEXAS" football...

Alabama...??? National Champions... Kudos...I was actually pulling for them as I was born in Mobile, and am a huge life long fan of the Bear...
109 roster/55 from Alabama, 3 from Texas...

Florida, 111 roster/71 from Florida, 5 from Texas

Nebraska, 140 roster/67 from Nebraska, 21 from Texas

Ohio State, 117 roster/74 from Ohio, 2 from Texas

LSUoosers...19 from Texas,--- Just kidding, I actually like LSU since so many of my friends and co-workers are rabid fans...and you cannot go anywhere in La without being fed great food with a friendly hello... from my sons college baseball days... He's playing pro baseball now...

Oklahummers...(figure it out) 44 from Texas,

K-State, 34 from Texas and only 22 from Kansas...???

TCU--- 19 non-Texans

Texas A&M---9 non-Texans

Texas-----------6 Non Texans...for 49 other states... ???

Oh, and we still have Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Rice, Houston, Baylor, SMU and a host of Div 1-2AA schools and Div 2 and 3 schools with football programs...

Without the great "STATE OF TEXAS," College football would be nowhere near the game it is today...

If you want to look at it in another way, if K-State were to have won it all this year, Texas wins, If LSU were to have won it all, Texas could brag, if Oklahoma "ever" wins it again, Texas wins...

If Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Houston, Baylor, SMU, TCU, Rice, etc... win it, TEXAS wins...

Just my thoughts...

But hey, the game is over, what happened has happened, and we can all look forward to next season.

Texas had a great season, Colt McCoy had an amazing career at Texas and will do just fine in the NFL. No one can take away the fact that Colt is the winningest quarterback in college football history, as well as the most accurate. He has practically re-written the record books at Texas and it should be interesting to see Garrett Gilbert step in and try to make a name for himself.

Let's not forget, as a high school football player, Garrett was considered the top QB of his class and led his team to a 39-4 record as a starter over the course of his sophomore through senior years and two straight state titles. I'm excited to see him step in and take over the reigns. I would be even happier if Greg Davis (the offensive coordinator for Texas) got fired, but one can only dream

Just a little food for thought from a thread that was abondoned by most people shortly after the National Championship Game...
