Speaking of Cash for Clunkers...
How many of you guys were aware that the cost to manufacture a new car in carbon emissions is higher than simply keeping an old clunker? Even if you get a super efficient Prius, you still cause more theoretical climate change than if you kept an old junker.
The carbon emissions of MAKING a prius is the equivalent to burning 1,000 gallons of gasoline. If you had a clunker that got 19MPG then you'd be able to go 19,000 more miles before you even made up for the manufacture of ONE prius.
You could have saved TONS of emissions if you had just driven your old clunker until it died.
