But I recall other's on our G8 forum watching the sales numbers closely, and Pontiac in general was selling much higher than virtually all other GM brands except Chevy and Cadillac. For several months in 2009-- largely attributed to the G8 and the great deals.
But yes, I agree the G8 was poorly marketed. I still have people at nearly every light gawking at my car. At gas stations, I have people literally walking around back to find out what the badge says. I have people a few times a week ask me what it is, and tell me how much they like it..
Poor car sales are just more proof of GM's incompetence. Pontiac wasn't the problem, Having a sports sedan in the line wasn't the problem. The management and business decisions were the main problems.
Again, I am not 100% on the numbers, but I know that Pontiac was fairing well on the sales numbers, especially in spring and summer time months of 09.
