Nothing special from me, I use "go to your room" a lot. The only source of entertainment in their rooms are books, so it works out pretty good.

I do remember when I was young the line that always scared the bejeebies outta me was..

"Go pick me a hickory switch."

I was born and raised in the south, and when I was young most parents' punishment tool of choice was a switch. You knew it was gonna be really bad if you had to pick your own, too. Heaven help you if you came back with a twig, 'cause if granny had to re-pick she'd come back with a tree branch lol. I didn't get a lot of whoopins, but I sure remember the ones I did get. I don't necessarily remember what I did to get em, but you can bet your sweet ass I didn't do it again.
