I see snipers a fair bit on the 360 (obviously map depending), i use them as well. i find it useful in hardcore (on the right map, like the russian wasteland map). I'd agree though they aren't seen as often on the consoles, probably because alot of the console gamers are the little kids who don't have the patience to sit back..
that's why i'm considering a switch back to PC gaming. only holdback for me is the investment i've got in hardware/my big stack of games.
