So I went to see it again and brought my 10 yr old son.
I must say this is a really visually stunning movie. When I went see it on opening day in IMAX, I was on about th 5th row from the screen looking up the whole time...which may have led to my 'meh' review.
My son loved it...more than GI Joe, slightly less than Star Wars (no doubt he is my son!)...so after seeing it again in regular 3D I must admit I really liked it and highly recommend it, even to the non-sci-fi genre fans.
