I know many people that would love to own a new Vette, but the prices have gone too high... this is the first time in many many years they are offering the Vette at below MSRP.
Unless the next generation Corvette is a less expensive car it will be very difficult for GM to justify it's survival.

I love the Corvette, and I used to own a 65 Sting Ray, I always wanted to own another one, a new one, but it seems that ever since I could finally justify a Sportscar the Vette has been out of my price range.
The Corvette has moved up because it targets a diff market...

There are DIFFERENT GM cars which target that market now, so many of them that it wouldnt make sense to price the corvette competatively with them. It would change the car completely.
