i love this comment
"n terms of performance, the V6 Camaro automatic will hit sixty in 6.1 seconds. The 845 pound lighter (!) GTI will it sixty in 6.7 seconds (DSG) or 7.5 seconds (manual).
So, basically, what we've got here is 3,750 pound car that performs better than a 2,905 pound car, drives the correct set of wheels, and despite having a vastly larger and more powerful engine, gives up only 3 mpg to the GTI. And to top it all off, it's starts at thousand dollars less?
To put in alternative terms, one of the most reviled automotive manufacturers accused of having terrible engineering and products just put out a product that, pound for pound, is in most measured respects superior to the highly praised German engineering that is the GTI, and for less money. Not to mention that the V6 Camaro, thus far, has no major recalls or complaints about reliability.
I'm embarrassed for Volkswagen if that's the best they can do with a lightweight compact hatchback.
Also, as a side note, the CRX is not coming back. I don't want to be harsh, though.
