This pro vs non-pro argument is a little humorous. Anyone who thinks you must be a pro to be a good driver surely hasn't spent any time at a road course. I've known pros, and several non-pros who would equal in terms of driving skill. Not everyone has aspirations to be a paid driver, some people prefer racing as a hobby. Some people earn far more income, and prefer a more stable lifestyle than being a car driver. It isn't like this M3 owner just walked in off the street with zero track experience. He graduated a race driving school, and for all we know he could be at the track weekly. Might even be that particular track, and home field advantage is huge with racetracks.

Anyways, just throwing this out there. You don't necessarily need a paycheck from racing to be considered an expert driver.
