This is not a redesign, it is a minor refresh. Don't expect a new motor until they get a better chassis/suspension to put it on. I'm not even sure this car will get a more advanced power/drivetrain because top of the line (in other words expensive) performance has never been the Mustang's M.O. Have you all considered that Ford might just decide to leave the GT500 to really "compete" with the Camaro SS and Challenger SRT-8?

In my opinion, because the Mustang is a cheap for the masses car, this engine will get a minor power boost so that their loyal fans will think Ford is competing. This will buy the company enough time to come out with a real powerplant. Even then though, if something near 400hp is an option, it won't be on the base Mustang GT. They will keep the slightly upped 4.6L on the base for cheap speed, then have an optional engine/suspension upgrade that will push the price out of normal Mustang buyer range. That won't be until a total redesign, of course.

This is all assuming of course that they can get it out while the market for these cars is still healthy. I don't think that will be open past 2012.
Don't bother assuming anything REMEMBER ASSUMPTION IS THE MOTHER OF ALL F&^K ups .. don't count the Stang out it may surprise us all
