Electric motors produce gobs of torque, which means they have an enormous amount of get up and go from a standstill. The e-tron will supposedly gallop to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds, only about 0.8 seconds slower than the company's R8 4.2 with its gas-powered V8 engine."

WOW thats just crazy. If electric cars can do this and get me at least 400 miles on a single charge and keep the performance up to par, sign me up.

You had me right up to the 400 miles per charge part.

That is far beyond any battery technology in existence. The only Electrical Vehicle that can do that is the Chevy Volt and that is with the on board generator that can maintain the charge level for operation.

Even the cars that are "claiming" 100 miles per charge are small light vehicles packed full of battery.
