I'm not a huge fan of the styling. The tail end looks very average, and the headlights bother me. It does look good, but I prefer the Cobalt for it's less aggressive attempt at what can only be described as the economy segment of cars. My biggest concern with this product is that the cost will increase with the use of this additional "refinement" that people indicate this car has over the Cobalt. If the car is a step above the Cobalt, then who is going to buy it? There's not really a place in GM's lineup for a more expensive, slower, more efficient compact, so the logical call would be to kill the Cobalt for this slightly uglier car.
While I'm sure this is not a concern for GM, I have to, as a performance enthusiast, beg the question of what this will do to young enthusiasts. The 16-year-olds fortunate enough to get their first new car early in life will start slow and economical. How many of us got a pony car in the 1970s? As much as our community seems to not like the idea of kids in fast cars, isn't that what a lot of us were? I'm just a little concerned that the most attainable car segment is getting slower, and the fast ones that we like the most are getting more expensive.
