It is addictive, and it's addictive because it's like how they design slot machines with smaller frequent payouts to keep you plugging in your quarters. They have it set up so you earn some award, advanced perk, new toy or acclaim title every 2 or 3 games. If you can string just a few kills together you start getting air drop goodies so if you can just get 2 or 3 guys strung together you start thinkng 'just 1 more dammit'. When you do get a turret and an aircraft going at the same time it's almost euphoric.

Whoever designed the system really has a pretty good understanding of Psychology and maybe crack addiction.
