125 + 175 = 300: new tires
325: new exhaust
100ish: new headlight and turn signals.
No including any incidentals or the paint job. That puts remaining cost at 950. I think 250-300 should cover both the paint job and anything extra that pops up, which would but the total project in the 1500 dollar range.
Not too bad all things considered though. Thats basically 1500 bucks for a brand new bike, and one that will be completely unlike anything else on the street. Plus, I'll be able to sell the stock seat/front fender/front fairing for a good bit of money because nobody makes those parts anymore, and aftermarket replacements are expensive.

P.S. - going to do some fiddling with the stock exhaust this weekend if we get the bike running: try a few tricks that I've read about. I may be able to get the stock exhaust to sound the way I want, at which point buying the aftermarket exhaust for 325 would be completely unnecessary.

Wow, yea, that is relatively cheap for everything you are doing! And I am sure you can get some good cash for those parts....
hope you can get the exhaust sounding the way you want! Save you some $$!!!
