I'm not going to say that the cop wasn't wrong for speeding. But anyone that knows traffic laws will tell you that the vehicle going straight on the road always has the right away. Over the vehicle that is making a turn at the intersection. No matter what the speed of the vehicle traveling straight is. Unless it can be proven that the driver was under the influence or impaired some how.

Internally most departments have a general order that calls for termination of an employee that causes a fatal car accident. If the department finds the officer at fault, by not following department protocol. Which looks like the case here.

I don't believe that the officer should have been charged criminally, from what I read about the incident in the article. But I don't think that he should ever wear the shield again ether. This is only my opinion.

My heart goes out to the families of the victims.
