I didn't feel like reading the article, but the title explains it all. So I will give my thoughts on the matter.
Street racing is wrong, period. I am sure we have all either street raced, or sped at one point in our lives. On that night, it cost two kids their lives. What the cops did is unexcusable. Each one of them should be fired. The one should be charged for manslaughter, and the other with involuntary...I mean, after all, if that were an average day joe, that'd of been our charges. If you want to call it vehicular homicide, go ahead. I believe these cops should be hit hard with charges. Here they are suppose to be an example, yet what kind of example are they giving?
Cops enforce the law, but think they don't have to follow it, and that pisses me off. I don't know how many times I have been driving, and had a cop fly by me doing at least 70 or 80 in 45 zones.
Had it happen once when I was coming home from a hockey game. Was doing 60ish in a 55 zone, and they flew by me like I was standing still. No lights. Weaving in and out of traffic the whole time.
Like I said, these guys need to get hit hard. The chances of that are probably slim though, and that is unfortunate. Mind you, I am not a cop hater. I respect cops that actually do their job, and are decent people. Don't treat you like shit...but I have absolutely no respect for cops that don't do their job, talk smack, and have an attitude.
