Emergency responders can say they love there job all they want and the friend of mine I mention above 'loves his job' too but no matter what they say dealing with what they see and experience on a day to day basis is something most of us will never in our lifetime go through once. To hold them to a higher standard means they should also be be afforded a higher level of respect when they put their lives on the line everday for our protection but most times all they get is indignation for being a cop. How many of us actually have to wear a bullet proof vest when they go to work every day? It is there choice but do you have the balls to do it? I don't, couldn't handle it and I don't mind admitting that. Please don't sterotype because of the actions of a isolted incident. This a tragedy all the way around.

You quoted me but I sure as hell that wasn't directed at me. I have my feelings in order here. I support my local leos and allways will. I give monetarily and believe it is a good cause. I've known them in some capasity for a long time and for the ones who want to whine about what they do, other than being underpaid, I'll just repeat EVERY cop and trooper I know. FIND SOMETHING ELSE TO DO IF YOU CANT HANDLE IT. You knew the deal when you signed up, and you still do. All the guys I know agree because we've spoken during cookouts and such.
These guys can talk about being underpaid and be legit. They ARE underpaid.
But don't talk about being disrespected because it comes with the job and they know it.
So DON'T blanket statement all of us because a few will disrespect them and DON'T EVER accuse me of it. I take offense.
