Been thinking about it more...
Can it be both? Innate and conditioned?
Innate because aren't certain things "passed down" from your mother when you are born? Maybe her color association is passed down to you and you just live your life with that.
Or, once the child begins to see color for themselves, they make their own judgements and create their own emotional associations.
