Crapyota's already on its way out. This is something I've known forever. The auto industry is a vicious cycle, once you screw up too many times, you're in big trouble. Take Ford back in the early days of automotive manufacturing. Undoubtedly the largest automaker in the world. They got arrogant, only producing cars in black. GM offered a wide range of colors, and just that little thing boosted GM to world's largest automaker for 77 years straight. In the 80s and 90s, GM got cocky and arrogant, thought that they could throw crap on dealer lots and people would still buy them. I know this might sound bad, especially for you guys that own 3rd gen. Camaros out of Norwood, but if a part didn't fit right, my dad said that they fetched a hammer and made it fit. People got fed up, especially during the rebadging era, where practically every GM vehicle had a twin in another division. Toyota had built up a reputation for quality, and people turned to them for cars. Now toyota's passed GM in global sales, but they're already on the way down. The tundra is a complete joke, "an embarassment" to the company as stated by a toyota exec. With cracking tailgates, rust problems, frames cracking clean through the middle, fuel lines cracking, engine sludge problems, toyota's reputation for quality is quickly going down the drain. It won't be long before toyota owners are fed up with all the problems and start looking for different cars.
In fact, it's already happened to a lot of people. I know of one woman who owned imports almost all her life. When her highlander's engine literally had to be rebuilt because of sludge problems, she finally called it quits and bought a 2008 Malibu, and she says it's the best car she's ever owned.
