But we are forgetting GM already has a competitor, the Equinox EV. Anyone that cross shops the Mach-E also looks at the Equinox EV. Both are the same dimension wise just the Mach-E puts out more power. If the power difference bothered GM enough to develop a completely new vehicle, all they would have to so it release a higher trim level of the Equinox instead. Any vehicle they make to compete with the Mach-E will steal sales from the Equinox and Blazer EV's which they don't want to do.

With the low sales of the Mach-E and the fact they already have a vehicle that buyers compare it to, there is absolutely zero reason to develop a new vehicle.

Thats almost exactly how the Camaro was born. Ford had the mustang and it was basically seen as a 1 of 1. Like it or not, electric vehicles are the future. We're just in the early stages of the transition so the hurdles are still there. 30 years from now there will probably be three times as many electric vehicles as there is now on oir roads
