I appreciate the kind words! I finally broke down and went to the doctor, turns out I have bronchitis. Got some meds and I'm slowly on the mend. I also appreciate the feedback, this is why I enjoy forums/message boards over social media. This is a more long format application where you can explain things in detail and in turn get to know people and their thought process. Thank you!
So, obviously progress has really been creeping by. I cleaned the valve cover bolts, installed the new seals and finally buttoned up that passenger side. I'm going to leave the coil pack assy. off for now just due to the fact it's easier to work the fuel injector clips with the coils out of the way. Also got the valley cover cleaned up, bolts as well. New seal set of course.
This is kind of where I'm at a stopping point, all because of this god forsaken oil pressure sensor. I want to swap it out due to age and mileage, I'm also sure its leaking as well. I have the new GM sensor on hand but I cannot for the life of me get the damn thing out.
I have purchased at least 3 different GM/Chrysler specific oil pressure sensor sockets, I have borrowed 2 or 3 different 1/16 & 27MM sockets from co-workers....all with varying degrees of failure. Whether they aren't deep enough, too thick and hit the block before it slides the whole way down, too tight and wont go around the sensor body....guys, this is literal insanity, this is an friggin' LS engine not an uber rare, limited production Ferrari V12 that require custom tools from Italy. This should not be as difficult and time consuming as it has become.
I have a bunch of parts coming from Summit Racing this week that includes yet another socket that someone left a hopeful review stating "this fits GMT800" so, fingers crossed I can finally swap this out and keep moving forward. Absolutely ridiculous.
