Got the intake manifold as clean as I could by hand with it still attached to the heads. Eventually it will come off and I'll get in the runners and whatnot but for now this is a lot better. Purchased the Fel pro intake manifold gasket kit, just using the throttle body gasket for now. The original was pretty stiff.

The throttle body cleaned up nicely. Not surgical clean but it's pretty damn close. I purchased a few 1/4 caps to cover the coolant barbs. I also purchased a few feet of 1/4 coolant line and ran that directly from the radiator to the coolant port under the intake. For now I ran a new vacuum hose from the throttle body back to the valve cover, I'll tap into that later for a catch can.

I cleaned up the air intake box as well as the MAF. I forgot to take a picture but there was definitely a small creature living in there lower half of the box. It was covered in tiny nut shells.

The last part here isn't required but I have never liked accordion style intake elbows plus the OEM throttle body seal looks real sloppy and dry rotted, probably not doing a great job. This Airaid elbow seems pretty popular in the GMT800 community so for $150, why not. Dads air filter has plenty of life left so I'll leave that go.

I just put a few gallons of fresh gas in the tank, I'll put the elbow on tomorrow, start her up and see where we're at. Will report back with findings.
