NASCAR requires the bodies to be called after a model is currently in production or is scheduled to go into production. For GM to willingly drop the Camaro name from the NASCAR body shows that they do not currently have any plans for a next gen Camaro.

This is not correct with the current next gen rules. They are built specifically for racing and do not need to be current, publicly available production models.
