You can read all about his accomplishment's in Hockey and Politics everywhere but I want to tell about the only time I ever met the man the myth the legend.
It was a freezing cold night in Toronto on Feb 13th 1999 the last game for the Toronto Maple Leafs at the the Iconic Maple Leaf Gardens was on tap and I had tickets.
The line was long to get in but there was Ken(he was the President of the Leafs then) out there shaking hands with the fans.
I can't remember what I said or what he said other than our mutual Go Leafs Go but I do remember his smiling face and him greeting me like I was a long lost friend.
BTW the Leafs lost to the Chicago Black Hawks 6-2(We ruined their arena close out and opener but thats another story)
A few weeks later in the mail I received a package in it was an official frameable certificate .
It said "This is to certify _my name___ was in attendance at MLG on blah blah blah and it was signed by Ken what a nice touch.
It also had a place to put my ticket.
I am sure Saint Peter greeted Ken at the Pearly Gates just like Ken did with all the fans on that freezing cold night.
RIP Ken were a Great Man and a Canadian Icon
