More on the James Cook situation WGR 55 radio the local sports station that has the Bills rights did an online poll about the situation.

A) Pay Cook 11m per year(53%)

B) Use a round 2 pick in 2026 to fill his spot (47%)

My take on this is that I voted A on both polls and my reasoning is this my scale for him is 8m to 10.5m

500k is not going to break the bank on this and its better than 15m plus

Making him a top 10 paid RB is not an issue to me I think that is where he slots in with his growing ability as he has steadily improved over his first three years taking a big leap forward last year.

But top 3 money is out of the question as that extra 5m could get us 2 or 3 or even 5 bottom of the roster guys at league minimum and some could even be worth while replacements for "Jimbo"

I really, really really would like to see Cook stay with the Bills past this year. But he's delusional if he thinks he's getting $15 mil here. I think he's got the potential to be just outside of the top 5 backs (Barkley, Henry, Robinson, Gibbs, Jacobs). He's as dangerous a runner as there is in the open field and has really improved as a receiver. He could probably handle a little bigger workload, but that's just not how the Bills' offense works so he's just not going to get 350 touches. I hope that winning a Super Bowl changes his perspective, but I think that would just validate his demands in his mind. Some non-playoff team will probably overpay him, but either way we'll be ok.
