I owned a 2006 GMC Sierra with the 5.3 V8 for eleven years. It was a good reliable truck but threw an evap code for a while that couldn't be resolved. New gas cap, vent valve solenoid had a tsb that moved it to a more isolated area on top of the transmission. Still threw the code and after my Dad and I "smoked" the system to look for leaks I brought it to the dealership and they couldn't resolve the issue but just reset the code. Overall good truck but the damn evap code gave me a nervous twitch. Ontario got rid of emissions testing so this wouldn't be a problem now.
I understand the V8 Infinity purchase. I've been looking at mid size SUVs that can tow for a while now and I'm not inspired to spend $70k for a turbo 4. I've started looking more at used options.
