But like I said the tires are brand new all seasons and its 30 degrees out lol. In short, if the TQ converter or transmission was slipping, this would be a totally different experience than what im describing?

Yes. The stock converter is very tight, you won't get any slip from that, at least I never did. Now I run a 4500 stall and the slip is a lot until it locks up. As for the brand new Pirelli's, they are crap no matter what temp it is outside! And as for the massive jolt and sudden power lose you described earlier, that is when the ECU detects that the engine revs are too high, and it cuts the fuel off to the injectors, yes it seems pretty violent at times, but it will save your engine. It is a stock safety measure.
