2019 Camaro Lt1 RS

I have a dash cam and since I installed it I noticed every time I close my trunk it turns off the camera and back on. I didn't think anything of it till one day my wife closed the trunk and it didn't turn off.

Dash cam plugs into cigarette lighter, when I close my trunk the Camaro turns off and back on. Is this normal and by design?
Part of me thinks a possible short or loose connection.
