Were it only that easy… I delete as many as 80 of these a day, all with similar names… It takes between an hour and two hours, as you have to go to each individual member page, look in stats to determine how many posts they have, read some of those to determine legitimacy, and then go through the steps to delete all of their posts if found to be a spammer, and then ban them, which can be occasionally done at the same time… I’ll then go into the ModCP, and do an IP search and then find other posters based on the IP, and repeat the process for all names found in there…. In the attached online list, there are approximately 86 spammer accounts… Please note the similarity of the name you mentioned to Viktorijmj, and tomorrow or the next there will be another name almost but not quite identical to that, or note the Jeoffroi…. And there are hundreds of these… AI bots, that create account after account etc… or assholes (not me) that create the accounts and set code to respawn, with slightly changed new acct names…

I work on this at least one or two hours a day… hundreds of posts a day, and then we try to keep you guys informed with threads like this, where soft people call me an asshole, while demanding / wanting me to ban him because he’s too soft to quit himself, and too entitled to follow the rules… “you guys” includes me and Mlee and Rad since there is only one admin… We appreciate the “support” without any knowledge of the actions behind the scenes…

Well I stand corrected. Years ago when I was a mod on a site, it wasn’t nearly that complicated to do spam control. My apologies.

Very good point. Unless he owns the rights to the site, why isn’t a different person chosen to be the admin? One who will can communicate with the mods as they are supposed to do.
