Is a can or a/o separator necessary on the dirty side of the pcv? No. But I would recommend it, as long as it's a good product, is maintained by the end user, and oil changes are done regularly

It's cool that Chevy put a decent a/o system on the clean side of the pcv from the factory.
My car rarely gets driven when it is below 60°F (I live in SoCal), it was pretty much all oil with maybe a touch of fuel...
