A lot of that is likely condensation. Still a good reference. I get less accumulation in my OSC can, but there's a lot of variables to consider.

Is a can or a/o separator necessary on the dirty side of the pcv? No. But I would recommend it, as long as it's a good product, is maintained by the end user, and oil changes are done regularly

It's cool that Chevy put a decent a/o system on the clean side of the pcv from the factory.
