Only complaint I had with the 720s is the sound, it just doesn't sound that good until you start to wind up the engine. Just cruising around town sounds muffled and not very aggressive. Both are amazing cars to drive in their own way. You do feel the weight more in the Z06 compared to the 720s since it only weighs 3200lbs. The Z06 only handles better because of the wider tires and possibly more downforce.

Awesome. Thanks for confirming that for me. It's seems pretty evident that McLaren throws narrow tires at their line to protect the buyers from themselves to avoid oversteer. If I were a guessing man, I would think that a wider front tire would probably help the car on the entries (at the expense of making corner exits exponentially more dangerous for the uninitiated.). Looking at the lightning laps between the two cars, I wonder how much faster the 720s would have went if it was fitted with a more aggressive tire layout from McLaren.
I hear you on the sound aspect. McLaren's are underwhelming in that arena. How was the reliability of your 720s? I always hear mixed reviews.
