^What I believe that the government and the auto industry will need to come to terms with the fact that the buying consumer will ultimately control the market by buying the car type that they want.

General Motors as well as some of the other makers will have to come to terms with the fact that some consumers, like myself, may never own an EV, for personal and/or pragmatic reasons. My personal view is that the technology has yet to surpass the accomplishments of ICE powertrains. This is the main belief of mine that the automotive market needs to invest in other types of alternative fuels. It is very possible that one day a maker may develop or discover an alternative automotive genre that can achieve and possibly surpass the accomplishments of ICE. This could take many years of development, but the possibilities are there.

Until the day approaches that a viable fuel solution becomes a reality, I encourage the likes of Honda and Toyota and any maker to continue to manufacture and market their reliable Accord, Civic, Celica, Camry and related SUVs.
